The Elite road race of the Glasgow World Championship has been interrupted by a protest action in the middle of the road that has forced the peloton to stop, so it will start again after the neutralization with 195 km to go.

A group of activists literally stuck to the surface of the road, preventing the passage of the peloton, which at that moment was marching with a group of 9 breakaways, another of 3 interspersed, and the main sector some 8:30 minutes from the head of the race.

The security forces deployed on the ground had to take off, hammer and chisel in hand, one by one at the demonstrators who were protesting in the middle of the route, in a completely unusual sight.

Once the protest cleared up, half an hour later at 1:00 p.m. Spanish time, the organization decided to start (1:15 p.m.) respecting the race situation at the time of the interruption. The long-distance World Cup started at 10:30 am and covers the distance of 271.1 km between Edinburgh and Glasgow.
