The Valencian Community will experience today a Sunday with significantly high temperatures for the time of year in the northern half, which will reach 29º in Ontinyent, according to the prediction of the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet).

During the day, slightly cloudy or clear skies are expected, without ruling out haze in the southern third at the end of the day. In addition, a variable light wind will blow with a predominance of the east component in the afternoon, with occasional moderate intervals on the coast.

As for temperatures, they will remain unchanged or experience a slight rise. Specifically, in the province of Castellón, the thermometers will register a maximum of 27º in Castelló de la Plana and Vall d'Uixó, 26º in Morella and 24º in Vinaròs, while the minimum temperatures will range between 11º in Morella and 13º in the capital and Vinaròs.

In València, the mercury will reach a maximum of 29º in Ontinyent, 28º in València, 27º in Requena and 25º in Gandia. For its part, the minimum temperatures will be between 11º in Ontinyent and Requena, and 14º in Gandia and València.

Finally, in Alicante, maximums of 28º are expected in Orihuela and Elche, 26º in Alcoi and Alicante, and 25º in Dénia. The minimum temperatures will be 11º in Alcoi, Orihuela and Elche, and 13º in Dénia and Alicante.

Likewise, the level of pre-emergency due to the risk of forest fires for this Sunday is low-medium throughout the Valencian Community, according to the Generalitat Emergency Coordination Center, which yesterday reported various fires declared in different points, such as Torrent, Càlig or the most intense in Xàbia. Also yesterday, the maximum temperatures recorded reached peaks close to 30 degrees in several inland points, while on the coast they remained around 25 degrees.

The highest records were the 29.3 degrees reached in Turís, 29.1 in Atzeneta del Maestrat, 28.8 in Xàtiva or 28.4 in Carcaixent and Bicorp. In Pinoso the thermometer remained at 27.9, 27.7 in Castelló de la Plana and 26.7 in Chelva. In Valencia the maximum was 25.2 and in Alicante 24.5, according to data from the State Meteorological Agency.
