The Third Section of the Provincial Court of Alicante has sentenced a man to seven years in prison who subjected a minor, the grandson of a neighbor of his, to touching his private parts, whom he offered money for sexual relations and persecuted for the street on several occasions when the boy returned home.
The Court considers him the author of a continuous crime of sexual abuse of a minor, for which he is sentenced to four years in prison, of a crime of corruption of minors, for which he is sentenced to another two years, and of a crime of harassment, punished with another year in prison.
In addition, the Court prohibits her from approaching less than 300 meters from the victim and communicating with her by any means for 13 years and disqualifies her from exercising a profession and trade that involves regular contact with minors for eight years.
On the other hand, the man must compensate the minor, who was 13 years old when the events occurred, with 5,000 euros for moral damages.
The sentence explains that, for three months, from July to September 2019, the convicted person touched the victim on several occasions, in the streets and parks where they were, in a municipality in the region of l'Alacantí.
The abuses also took place in a store in the same town, in a home belonging to the minor's relatives, located on the same property where the defendant lived, and in his van.
In mid-July, the accused took the boy home in his van and along the way tried to touch the boy's genitals under his clothes, to which the victim refused. Before leaving the vehicle, the man warned him that he could not tell his mother anything or there would be consequences.
On another occasion, the man cornered the minor on the landing of the property where his grandmother and aunt lived, tried to kiss him and offered him money, between 30 and 40 euros, to have sexual relations.
The sentence also declares it proven that during two weeks during the summer months of 2019, the convicted person went to the victim's godmother's bakery, where the boy was temporarily helping, and touched his private parts, put his hand on his ass and He touched his genitals.
On September 12, 2019, the victim refused to get into the convict's van, which caused him to chase him. The boy was forced to go into alleys and alter his route to throw him off track. Days later, the minor confessed the facts to his mother, who filed a complaint with the Civil Guard.
The sentence is not final and an appeal can be filed against it before the Civil and Criminal Chamber of the Superior Court of Justice of the Valencian Community.
