Seven gang members arrested for beating a minor to steal his mobile phone and shoes

Seven gang members, five of them minors, have been arrested accused of beating and threatening with a knife a 14-year-old boy whose mobile phone and shoes were stolen in the vicinity of La Vaguada park, in the Madrid district from Fuencarral-El Pardo.

All those arrested are accused of the crimes of robbery with violence and intimidation, injuries and belonging to a criminal organization. A list of crimes for which the two adults have entered provisional detention by order of the judicial authority, sources from the Madrid Police Headquarters have reported.

The events occurred around 9:45 p.m. on March 31, when the victim, according to the complaint to which EFE had access, met a group of about 15 young people, some of them wearing ski masks, who were apparently recording a music video.

Upon seeing the minor, the presumed members of a youth gang approached and asked for his mobile, to which his owner refused.

At that moment they began to kick and punch him all over his body, which caused the victim to fall to the ground, where they continued to beat him.

After stealing his shoes, one of the attackers told him with a butterfly-type knife in his hand: "Either give me the phone right now or I'll cut you."

As a result of the beating, the minor suffered a broken nose and multiple bruises, in addition to psychological sequelae.
