Sentenced to 22 years in prison for killing his partner in La Bisbal del Penedès in 2021

The Tarragona Court has sentenced a man accused of killing his partner in Bisbal del Penedès (Tarragona) in 2021 to 22 years and six months in prison, according to the sentence after a popular jury found him guilty unanimously.

The Chamber also prohibits him from approaching and communicating with the victim's relatives at a distance of at least a thousand meters for a period of 24 years after serving the prison sentence, in addition to the measure of probation for seven years.

Likewise, the defendant must also indemnify the victim's son with 180,000 euros, with 60,000 euros to his mother, and with 6,000 euros to each of his brothers.

The victim, who had a recognized disability of 33%, was murdered on April 26, 2021, and died at the Vall d'Hebrón hospital after being transferred to it in an unconscious state.

That day, both argued in the flat where they lived and, after the attack, the man called 112.

The defendant had been diagnosed with "a non-specific personality disorder and an alcohol, cocaine, and cannabis dependence disorder."
