Ratchasima, a city about 250 kilometers from Bangkok.

Instead, the institution reported this Saturday that her father, King Vajiralongkorn, and Queen Suthida "have tested positive for Covid-19 and have moderate symptoms," without mentioning the state of the 44-year-old princess. years.

The last image of the monarchs dates from Friday, when they went to the Bangkok hospital where the princess is admitted, dressed in navy blue tracksuits and matching orange stripes and flip-flops, with their faces covered by masks.

The Prime Minister of Thailand, Prayut Chan-ocha, and other politicians also went there on Friday to prostrate themselves in front of a photo of the princess, place orange flowers - the color associated with her - and sign a book of good wishes.

Thailand's Supreme Buddhist Patriarch Somdet Phra Ariyavangsagatayana called on Sunday for all Thai temples at home and abroad to hold daily chanting sessions for the princess.

A petition joined today by the Thai Catholic Bishops' Conference, which urged its parishioners to pray for the princess, in line with the message issued by the Thai authority on Islamic affairs on Friday.

Bajrakitiyabha, born on December 7, 1978, is the only child from King Vajiralongkorn's first marriage to Princess Soamsawali - the current monarch's first cousin - and from whom he divorced in 1991.

After her father's ascension to the throne (in 2016), Bajrakitiyabha took a more prominent role in the ceremonies and acts of the Royal House and on behalf of the country, which was interpreted as a nod to the possibility of being named heir to the Crown.

With a PhD in Law from the American University of Chicago and a degree in international relations, the princess, a lover of horse riding, was also trained in some of the most elite schools in her country and in England.

In addition to her legal profession, she has served as Thailand's ambassador to Austria -between 2012 and 2014- and has held various positions representing the country in the United Nations, among others in the UN organization for Women and, more recently, in the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime.
