The Salt City Council (Girona) will offer twenty free trips per month to people who have a disability of 66% or more.
This advantage will be put into operation starting January 15 for all people who are registered in the municipality.
To obtain the bonuses, it will be necessary for residents to go to the Senior Citizens' Resource Center in Plaza de la Vila, fill out a form and bring a photocopy of their DNI and an official document proving the degree of disability.
This bonus is added to the existing ones for those over 70 years of age and minors between 4 and 16 years old and for students between 16 and 25 years old who study outside the municipality. To cover this expense, the council has approved an amount of 120,000 euros.
The mayor of Salt, Jordi Viñas, explains that this advantage for people with disabilities seeks to advance "towards equity of opportunities" and "favor the daily mobility of people with disabilities."
