A Russian bombardment on the Ukrainian city of Avdiivka, in the Donetsk region, in the east of the country and one of those that make up Donbas, left seven dead and nine wounded, reported the Ukrainian governor of the region, Pavlo Kyrylenko.

The attack took place in the central market of that city and in a morning hour with a large influx of citizens, said the head of the regional military command, Vitaly Barabash. According to Ukrainian regional sources, in addition to causing deaths and injuries, the Grad missiles used for the attack damaged multi-storey buildings.

During the night the Russians bombed Maryinka, Krasnohorivka and Novomikhailivka and carried out two air strikes on Bakhmut, in the same region as Donetsk.

Russia has continued its offensive on various regions of Ukraine in recent hours. The onslaught against the city of Zaporizhia and its surroundings continues, on the other hand, after attacks on 22 settlements were recorded yesterday, although without causing fatalities.

The missiles and artillery of the Ukrainian forces hit twelve command posts, 17 areas of concentration of men, weapons and military equipment, four ammunition depots and more than twenty installations of importance to the Russian forces. In response, Russian troops shelled Ukrainian positions on the line of contact fifteen times with artillery. There were no air or missile attacks.

Meanwhile, fighting continues in the Kherson region and Russian troops continue to bombard Ukrainian positions to contain a counteroffensive along the entire line of contact. Meanwhile, the Ukrainian armed forces have liberated five other settlements in the Beryslav district: Novovasylivka, Novohryhorivka, Nova Kamyanka, Tryfonivka and Chervone.
