Russia questions leaks of secret documents on Ukraine

Moscow authorities question the veracity of the leaks of hundreds of secret documents from the Pentagon and US spy agencies. After learning of the arrest of Jack Douglas Teixeira, an intelligence employee for the Massachusetts Air National Guard, the Kremlin said Friday that it will carefully study the leaked documents, which include data on the current conflict in Ukraine, such as assessments of the progress of the campaign or the state of the anti-aircraft defense of the Ukrainian army.

The journalists wanted to know the position of Moscow and in their daily conference call they asked the Kremlin spokesman, Dimitri Peskov, if there was concern in Moscow or any claim to make to the leaker. “It is rather a concern of the American special services, not ours,” replied the Russian president's press secretary, Vladimir Putin.

What does interest Russia is the content of the leaked documents. "Our concern is to analyze this data, to continue to question its reliability, but to study it carefully," Peskov said.

“It is rather the prerogative of our (Russian) special services to study such data. After all, they were not in the public domain. But, of course, we have read all the information in the media, we have become familiar with it, ”he added.

Some Russian media point to the doubts about the veracity by relying on the position of Serbia, whose Prime Minister, Aleksandar Vucic, denied on Thursday the information indicating that the Balkan country had supplied ammunition or weapons to Ukraine.
