Benidorm Fest 2024, a Eurovision preselection event in Spain, has once again been in the spotlight following the revelation by the Spanish Radio and Television Corporation (RTVE) of its detailed budget.

The public corporation reported that total spending amounted to 4,579,255.98 million euros, marking an increase of 12% compared to the previous year, which was 4,069,328 euros.

This third edition of the contest consolidated its position as one of the most relevant events in the Spanish Eurovision calendar, especially after Nebulossa's candidacy was declared the winner.

According to reports from ESCplus Spain, the budget increase was consulted through the Transparency and Good Governance Council, evidencing RTVE's commitment to transparency in the management of funds.

The breakdown of the budget revealed that the majority of the investment, 77.96%, was allocated to external resources, with external production companies topping the list with an allocation of 2,672,729.41 euros, an increase of 8% compared to the previous year. last year. This was followed by the cost of RTVE's technical staff, which rose to 891,678.97 euros; which represents a significant increase compared to the 659,449 euros of the last edition.

In addition, other important expenses included the rental of equipment, transportation, transfer and exploitation of rights, among others. However, the presenters' salaries have not yet been revealed, a point that generated tensions in the previous edition due to discrepancies between the artists' caches.

The Generalitat Valenciana has also played a crucial role in the financing of the Benidorm Fest, contributing 1.5 million euros for the 2024 edition. In addition to the financial support, the entity has expressed its interest in hosting the Junior Eurovision 2024 headquarters in a of its cities, which underlines the continued commitment to the music and cultural industry in the region.
