Real Madrid closes a 360 million deal for the exploitation of the Bernabeu

Real Madrid announced this Thursday an agreement with the companies Sixth Street, an investment firm, and Legends, a company specializing in stadium management and Premium experiences, for the operation of the Santiago Bernabeu for the next 20 years in exchange for approximately 360 million .

"Through this alliance, Sixth Street acquires the right to participate in the exploitation of certain new businesses", informs the white club, while Legends "will contribute its experience and knowledge in the operation of large stadiums and leisure centers, allowing optimization management" of the new Madrid venue.

Madrid assures that the agreement with the two companies, "world leaders in their activities", will be "essential for providing unique experiences in a stadium where multiple events can be organized throughout the year" and will be a boost to increase "in a very significant revenue from the stadium".

Currently, the Santiago Bernabeu is still under construction, with only part of the stands accessible to Madrid fans, for now with a maximum capacity of around 65,000 people. Initially, the works were scheduled to be completed in 2022, but everything indicates that they will be delayed until 2023.

Madrid requested an initial loan of 575 million to pay for the stadium works, which began during the pandemic season, in 2019-20, and later requested another loan of 225 million to pay for the inclusion of the retractable turf. The first football team has played at the Bernabeu again this season, specifically in the match against Celta.
