Puerta del Sol will have a capacity of 15,000 people for New Year's Eve grapes

The vice mayor and delegate of Security and Emergencies, Inma Sanz, has recommended arriving "in time and by public transport" to those who are going to drink the grapes to say goodbye to the year at Puerta del Sol, which this year has a capacity of 15,000 people.

The emptying of the square will take place around 9 p.m., the Government spokesperson also estimated from Sol, where she approached the Samur mobile pharmacies. Sanz has recommended arriving on New Year's Eve "with time and, of course, by public transport because these are days when moving by private vehicle in the city center is very complicated."

He also hoped "that they come wanting to enjoy, wanting to party and that there are no problems." The Municipal Police force is 250 officers, both in the preúvas and in the grapes. They are police from the Center units, supported by the aerial support service (drones).

The device is very similar to previous years, with four filters and as many prefilters. The Municipal Police will take care of one part and the National Police will take care of the other so that "everything takes place with maximum security, that there is no illegal street vending, that no objects that could be dangerous are introduced."

In the case of Samur Civil Protection, there are around fifty personnel in that device, supported by the necessary reinforcement. There will be operations on foot, by motorcycle and by bicycle, "so that they can have total and absolute accessibility to each and every point in the area."

Inma Sanz wished Madrid residents and visitors to enjoy an "exceptional" event and this year in "a new Puerta del Sol, completely pedestrianized."
