Priority for families with children when occupying the apartments affected by the Valencia fire

The Valencia City Council will prioritize the entry of families with children and those who are in a "special" situation when providing apartments in the property in the Safranar neighborhood where those who have lost their homes in the Campanar fire can stay.

This was announced today by municipal sources, who assure that the work to prepare these 131 municipally owned and newly built homes is expected to be completed in the coming week.

This Monday, the city council's governing board will approve the measures to help those affected, as announced by Mayor María José Catalá during her visit to the office open in the Tabacalera building that has been set up to meet the needs of the residents.

Catalá explained that the homes have all the appliances, water and electricity, and that there is an "army of installers", volunteers from local companies, who are placing doors, tables and lighting so that the apartments are habitable as soon as possible.

The city council studies the situation of each family to try to meet all their needs, and works so that the affected boys and girls can go to their schools normally.

Meanwhile, residents have begun to remove their vehicles from inside the garages of the burned buildings, once the technicians have considered it safe, accompanied by members of the Fire Department and the Local Police.

Some of the owners of the vehicles, which have been preserved intact, have explained that they had to use flashlights to access their corresponding spaces, because the garage is completely dark due to the lack of electricity, and there were abundant puddles on the floor. of water.
