In a meeting held on the morning of Wednesday, October 11, the Majadahonda City Council and Grefa "have committed to forming a working group in charge of seeking solutions to the situation that arises after the end of the current agreement between Grefa and the Majadahonda City Council. next December", as this Madrid council has officially announced.

The Community of Madrid will participate in the working group whenever any of the parties require it, providing its advice and technical experience in environmental and urban matters.

The decision can be interpreted as a principle of agreement, in the absence of specifying the details and conditions, as can be seen from the council's note and the interpretation of sources consulted by Grefa.

The meeting was chaired by the mayor of Majadahonda, Lola Moreno, accompanied by the councilors related to the issue and the deputy minister of Environment, Agriculture and Territorial Planning of the Community of Madrid, Rafael García González. Grefa's representation has been headed by the president of the entity, Ernesto Álvarez Xusto.

The city council has shown its interest in reaching an agreement and the continuity of Grefa in the Monte del Pilar facilities without forgetting that "the current agreement in force by which Grefa is allowed to use facilities in the public space of Monte del Pilar de Majadahonda, expires on December 28 after having concluded the 25 years since the document was signed in 1998." "The current municipal government team proposes that the three parties involved dialogue to find an option, always within current legality, that allows the NGO to continue carrying out its work in Majadahonda," indicates the municipal note.

Sources from Grefa have been grateful for the negotiating position and open to a solution on the part of the city council, although they remember that the conditions of the new agreement must be specified in the coming days by common agreement.
