The struggle continues between the PP, which controls the resources of the Senate thanks to its absolute majority, and the PSOE, which leads a fragile majority of the Government in Congress, on account of the commission of inquiry into the Koldo case, now expanded to cover the rescue of Air Europa or what is known as Delcygate, the mysterious stay for a few hours in Barajas in February 2020 of the vice president of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez.
Once Koldo García's appearance was confirmed yesterday next Monday, April 22, at 11:00 a.m., after a few days of uncertainty in which the former advisor to the former Minister of Transport José Luis Ábalos had not been able to be located to notify him of the request, The PSOE presented two complaints to the Senate Board today, Friday.
In the first of them, the socialist group asks for explanations for the urgent processing of this summons, in which, alleges the PSOE spokesperson in the commission, Alfonso Gil, the 15 days established by the regulations of the Upper House have not been respected. from notification to appearance. And in the second, the updated work plan is requested.
Socialist sources explain that the request for the work plan has been duly attended to, but that, far from justifying the urgency of Koldo García's appearance, the PP has taken advantage of the situation to attack the PSOE. "There is no problem with this statement, but we wanted to state that the deadlines are not respected," they argue.
"In Parliament, forms are essential and that is why we point out that a series of issues reflected in the regulations have not been taken into account. Even so, we are not going to challenge that appearance or anything similar," these sources have pointed out, who have reiterated that the recorded writings do not represent "an attempt to prevent Koldo García from appearing on Monday" and that "at no time is annulment or postponement requested", but rather it is a matter of procedure.
The PP, on the contrary, has received these requests from the PSOE as evidence that Pedro Sánchez's party is "nervous" and "has panicked about what Koldo García may say" and "tries to boycott his appearance at all costs and using all possible tricks. Therefore, he understands that the socialist group's letter intends to postpone Monday's appointment, which will coincide with that of the PSC leader and former Minister of Health, Salvador Illa, in Congress.
