New loss in Vox: Steegmann will not collect the act of deputy left by Espinosa de los Monteros

New loss in the first rows of Vox. Juan Luis Steegman, who was responsible for collecting the act of deputy that Iván Espinosa de los Monteros resigned 48 hours ago, will not collect his credentials in the Congress of Deputies. The doctor by profession, who earned good reviews on the far right for his staunch defense of vaccines, already resigned from his position at the party leadership when he ran out of a seat.

Steegman, who contested the general elections as number six for Madrid, was left without a seat after the results of the elections were known. In a statement that he has transferred to the ultra leadership, the doctor acknowledges that on July 24 the door was closed to him to continue being a deputy.

That was the reason why he resigned from the Vox National Executive Committee. Now, with the departure of Espinosa de los Monteros, the "door" of the Congress of Deputies was opened for him again, but he is not going to "enter through it."

The doctor leaves, as Espinosa de los Monteros also did publicly, thanking Santiago Abascal for the opportunity he gave him. He says he has worked "with loyalty, sincerity and affection" so that "the dignity" of the seat he held in the last legislature translated "into the best service to the health of the Spaniards, to Spain, and to Vox".

Steegman was one of the great scourges of the Minister of Health who dealt with the coronavirus, Salvador Illa. He referred to him as the "coronavirus minister" or "euthanasia minister."

The resignation of Espinosa de los Monteros and Steegmann may mean the return to the Hemicilo of Carla Toscano, number seven in the Madrid candidacy. Toscano grabbed headlines in all the media after a vile attack on the Minister of Equality, Irene Montero, to whom she snapped from the rostrum of Congress that her only merit was "having studied Pablo Iglesias in depth."
