Murcia rules out evicting the Fuente Álamo 'rave' for security reasons

The Fuente Álamo (Murcia) 'rave' that has been active since New Year's Eve with about five thousand people will not be evicted by the public order forces for security reasons, as confirmed this Wednesday at a press conference by the Government delegate in the Region, Mariola. Guevara.

At the moment there have been no notable incidents, except for some arrests for drug possession, and what the Civil Guard does do is prevent access to the illegal party, meaning that anyone who leaves the speed circuit in which settled clandestinely, you will no longer be able to return, unless you do so on foot for several kilometers through one of the unguarded accesses.

According to Guevara, the main objective of the two administrations (city council and delegation) involved in the matter is "to control this situation, prevent expansion and block vehicles trying to access."

One hundred civil guards plus agents from the local Fuente Álamo police assisted by drones monitor the perimeter. Yesterday, a helicopter also provided more reliable data on the number of vehicles that have entered this circuit, which is estimated at 2,123, of which 500 have abandoned it in the last few hours.

Most of the sanctions are administrative, others are after the alcohol and drug test to guarantee the road safety of those leaving.

It is estimated that this coming weekend the party will conclude, but if there continue to be people there afterwards, there will be considerably fewer.

"To carry out an eviction right now with the people who are there with the type of celebration that these people are under the influence of, would take a fairly significant risk. So right now the eviction is not recommended," said the mayor of Fuente Álamo, Juana María Martínez.

Regarding the supposed state of abandonment of the circuit, the mayor has acknowledged a deterioration in the road surface of the asphalt, but that the pits were recently built and the council is in the process of bidding for a project to be able to resurface the circuit and make it work.
