More than 5,000 agents from the different Security Forces and Corps will ensure citizen security during the upcoming Fallas festivals, and 3,500 of these agents will be from the Valencia Local Police, which has increased the number of agents in the special operation by almost 21%. .

This was announced this Tuesday by the mayor of València, María José Catalá, together with the Government delegate, Pilar Bernabé, after the Local Security Board on the occasion of the Fallas 2024 and highlighting the "historic figure" with respect to local police officers. (600 more than last year).

According to the municipal corporation, the National Corps and the Civil Guard would be added to this number, as well as the National Police Unit assigned to the autonomous community.

In this sense, the Government delegate explained that the plan includes specific security measures to prevent attacks, since Spain maintains Level 4 Anti-Terrorist Alert.

"The objective of this device is for citizens to enjoy and participate in these days," said Bernabé.

For her part, the mayor highlighted the issues that have been addressed at the meeting of the Local Security Board, such as public transport and access to different roads, in addition to the issue of Fallas permits.

According to Catalá, 96% of the commissions would already have all their permits and has stressed that this management "will help and facilitate the work of the City Council, but also that of the Fallas."

On the other hand, the mayor has assured that "information has been requested about all the festivals planned by the commissions, which have to communicate if they anticipate the attendance of more than a thousand people."

Catalá added that they will monitor the consumption of alcohol and that "the Crida, especially, is a wonderful fallero act, and we have to avoid having bottles in the surroundings, problems of coexistence and altercations that have already taken place on other occasions."

In this way, Bernabé has also indicated that, in the case of the Civil Guard, in addition to intensifying the control of pyrotechnic products, they will increase surveillance of the districts that surround Valencia, the traffic of accesses to the city and the infrastructures. criticism in their area of ​​competence.

"The different security forces will work with maximum coordination to guarantee safe parties and we encourage the use of the Alertcops mobile application to immediately report any risk situation," stressed the Government delegate.

Finally, he highlighted the installation of Violet Points against sexist attacks and the reinforcement of the Office of Complaints and Attention to Women (ODAM) of the Food Commissioner.
