Marc Márquez: "Yes, I know where I'm going to race next year"

Marc Márquez continues to pluck the leaves of his future, from behind the scenes. Although the Cervera driver claims to be very clear about where he will be next year. "Yes, I know where I'm going to race in 2024. As of today, I have a contract with Honda, but they have put my mind on all the bikes. Someone will get it right, right?" said the multiple champion in an interview on Dazn TV.

Without revealing where he will race in 2024, Márquez was explicit in indicating two obvious things regarding Honda, which can be considered a declaration of intentions: that he still has one year left on his contract, and that if he tries things it is because he has faith in the sporting project. .

"If I am trying so many things on the motorcycle it is because I continue to believe in the project and because I want to evolve in the project," he told Izaskun Ruiz in an interview with Dazn TV. "This is because I feel this commitment and I am trying things to give solutions to the engineers. In Barcelona the same, in Misano, in the test, I will test the new bike. Why? Because I feel this commitment and I am looking for the best solution for the project and try to make it grow.

Márquez will test the new 2024 prototype on Monday the 11th in Misano, in the first contact with what should be his future motorcycle, and which would help him decide on his future. Some tests that the pilot considers "key", but not decisive.

"We hope to have an extra boost for the future in Misano," said Marc during the Catalunya GP last weekend. When asked by La Vanguardia, whether in the tests of the 2024 bike he did not have a good feeling with the machine, he said: "From one day to the next you don't lose 1.5 seconds, but I hope to be closer [to those at the top]. , among the top 10, to be more competitive. Those would be our real expectations."

Márquez trusts that the bike seen in Misano "will be the basis" of what he would have next year. "In Misano you are already beginning to see a little bit of the 2024 project, how it will go. Whether it will go better or worse. You are already beginning to smell how 2024 will go," he said. Although he assures that the test will not be definitive: "I have never said that my future depends on the Misano test. We have to find the best solution for the project. And this is based on Austria, a new aerodynamics. It's different, okay, but you try something different."
