Madrid will allocate 43.5 million for high school scholarships in charter or private schools

The Community of Madrid will allocate 43.5 million euros next academic year 2024/25 to Baccalaureate scholarships, from which more than 15,000 students who study in public or private centers in the region will benefit.

The Government Council approved this investment this Wednesday to provide the call with aid that aims to "reinforce the freedom of choice of families and facilitate equal opportunities, basic pillars of the Madrid educational system, in studies that are free for the families of students from all Madrid public institutes".

As reported by the Minister of the Presidency, Justice and Local Administration, Miguel Ángel García Martín, in a press conference, the deadline for submitting applications to qualify for these scholarships will open after the publication, before the end of this month, of its call. in the Official Gazette of the Community of Madrid (BOCM). This procedure can be carried out through the institutional web portal www.comunidad.madrid.

Among the requirements that applicants must meet are not having repeated a school year, in addition to being enrolled or with a reserved place at this stage in any of the subsidized and private centers in the Community of Madrid for 2024/25.

The amounts that beneficiaries will receive will vary depending on the income of the family unit. Thus, those with a per capita income of up to 10,000 euros will have an annual aid of 3,750 euros, while those with between 10,000 and 35,913 for each of their members will receive 2,000 euros.
