Los sumilleres catalanes exchange wines for creative material

The Catalan Association of Sommeliers (ACS) reissues its solidarity exchange for wines next Tuesday, January 2. In this edition of its 'Vi per joguines' initiative, the association that represents Catalan sommeliers asks to exchange creative material and teaching tools and not teaching toys as on previous occasions.

In its twelfth edition, the beneficiary entity will be the non-profit social foundation, TEAS, recognized by the third social sector and which works to enhance the growth and development of people with intellectual disabilities through art. They are defined as an alternative to labor integration, and their objective is “the growth and development of people with intellectual disabilities who cannot enter the world of work.”

The exchange will take place from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Dommia Design Studio, located at number 95 Legalitat Street in Barcelona. The ACS requests that the material exchanged for wine be of quality, and of a minimum value of 12 euros. He also wants to keep in mind “the work behind each bottle of wine and the purpose of this solidarity initiative.”

They seek to exchange wines for small blackboards, drawing pads, adhesive tapes, white glue, rulers, packages of white sheets and cardboard, various paints, black and colored pencils, colored plasticines, brushes of different sizes, pens and colored markers or erasers.

The president of the ACS, Anna Vicens, has told La Vanguardia's 'Comer' channel that “the social initiative of the TEAS foundation through creativity is very beautiful.” She hopes that about 200 bottles of wine will be exchanged in this year's edition. A dozen Catalan wineries associated with the ACS participate in this solidarity initiative.
