Lobato demands that Ayuso not block access to his academic record

The spokesperson for the PSOE opposition in the Community of Madrid, Juan Lobato, has demanded from the president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, that citizens be able to access their academic records because they "require us to tell the truth, be honest and transparent."

With these statements on social networks, the socialist spokesperson delves into the new controversy he plans about the president of the Community. A journalist from Newtral requested Ayuso's academic record after she was named an illustrious student by the Complutense University. After going through procedures, the transparency council has denied the delivery of the documentation, according to elDiario.es, despite this body unanimously approving that access should be facilitated.

Last Thursday, both Lobato himself and the socialist deputy Tatiana Jiménez asked Ayuso about this information in the Assembly, and she evaded the answer.

The issue is that the Complutense refused to provide the file to the journalist and she turned to the Transparency Council. This body decided unanimously, after passing the issue on September 5 by the Madrid Assembly, that this information did have to be provided. And then, the Government of the Community of Madrid appealed with a contentious administrative lawsuit to prevent said information from being provided.

Socialist sources point out to La Vanguardia that Ayuso "has three different resumes. One in the Madrid Assembly, another in the PP and another different one in his private Linkedin account."

To put an end to this conflict, the PP Government of the Community of Madrid has proposed that on December 22, in an omnibus law, in which 15 laws are intended to be changed, the Transparency Council be modified. With this reform, the organization could not force the Complutense University to provide the academic record of Isabel Díaz Ayuso.

The changes are based on this body being made up of only one professor and not three as until now (two were proposed by the regional government and the third by the opposition) and that it depends directly on the Ministry of the Presidency of the regional government.

With the planned changes, the opposition also focuses on the repeal of its own sanctioning regime. Unlike other transparency laws, the Madrid one granted the Council the ability to initiate a sanctioning file and could impose fines, for example, on those who obstruct access to public information.
