Less porn and more sex

All the alerts and reports that talk about pornography consumption among minors emphasize the great impact it has on the way children and young people form their conception of sexual relations. Up to this point nothing is surprising, since the repetition of certain types of behaviors and patterns, and even more so if they begin to be seen at a very early age, ends up giving them the status of naturalness. Like lies that end up becoming supposed truths by repeating them.

What personally surprises me the most is that the same alerts and reports show that in 2024, minors still continue to receive little healthy information about sex, making porn one of the few references they have available. to get started in the subject.

I come from a generation in which sexual education was practically non-existent. I still remember the shocked faces with which a class of fifth-grade EGB girls watched the only lesson we had in our entire schooling about “human reproduction.” It was in a natural sciences class, in which the teacher showed us a graph of the female reproductive system and another of the male reproductive system and she explained to us the mechanism by which children were generated. Nothing else.

I am very far from the world of school education and until recently I thought that this topic was quite out of date. Apparently, in schools and institutes it is not so much. And many times not in homes either. As a result of the latest revelations about the impact of porn, I have attended several conversations in which parents admit that they have only talked about sex with their children when they have asked them or to warn them to take precautions when they consider that they are already of reproductive age. relations. Or at most, to tell them that they never have to do anything they don't feel like doing.

And that's when sex is becoming less and less present in mainstream movies and series. We, at least, lived in the era of the uncovering. It wasn't a great reference. But at least it hinted that there was a certain interest among our elders in sex.
