Joint police operation in a conflictive bar in the La Pau neighborhood in Badalona

A joint action by the Badalona Urban Police and the Mossos d'Esquadra in a very troublesome bar located on Amadeu Vives Street, in the La Pau neighborhood, concluded yesterday with the arrest of the owner for an alleged crime against public health and by reception. During the operation, 54 grams of hashish were seized, as well as five mobile phones that were listed as stolen.

This action was part of a joint operation of the Special Police Intervention Group (GEIP) of the Badalona Urban Guard with the Fura Group of the Mossos d'Esquadra, the National Police Corps and the Local Police of Santa Coloma de Gramenet, although In the establishment on Amadeu Vives Street only the first two had to intervene.

The members of the Badalona Urban Police and the Mossos d'Esquadra identified 17 people and 6 reports were drawn up for drug possession. Likewise, various reports were drawn up at the premises due to deficiencies or absence of documentation, not conforming to the declared activity and due to unhealthiness. Some of the irregularities detected could lead to the closure of the premises after the corresponding files are processed.

The mayor of Badalona, Xavier Garcia Albiol, highlighted that "this operation, in collaboration with other police forces, is another example of the municipal government's commitment to security." “Actions like this have an impact on improving the safety of the environment. Aside from health issues, the drugs found in the establishment were a sufficient quantity to think that this bar was, presumably, a distribution point in the neighborhood,” he added.
