Israeli forces kill another Palestinian in the occupied West Bank

One Palestinian was killed and three others were wounded this Sunday by Israeli army fire in Nablus, a city in the northern occupied West Bank, official sources reported, amid a spiral of violence in the region that has left three Palestinians dead in recent years. four days.

"The young Saed Adnan Izat al Koni was shot by the Israeli occupation in Nablus," said a statement from the Palestinian Ministry of Health without specifying the age of the deceased.

For its part, the Palestinian Foreign Ministry condemned "in the strongest terms" the murder of Al Koni and "the injuries of three other" Palestinians, despite the fact that they "represented no danger to the occupying forces" of Israel.

The Israeli Army told Efe that, during their "routine activity", soldiers "saw armed suspects driving a vehicle and a motorcycle near the city of Nablus and responded by shooting" at them.

Al Kuni was in his 20s and was killed by gunfire from undercover Israeli forces that stormed the al-Taawon neighborhood, while the three wounded were taken to a nearby hospital, the official Palestinian news agency, WAFA, said.

Two other Palestinians were detained by Israeli soldiers, added the same source.

On Saturday, Israeli soldiers killed a Palestinian who allegedly tried to run them over near Nablus, although Palestinian sources said it was an accident.

And on Thursday, a Palestinian attacker was shot dead by Israel Police after attempting to stab civilians in the Israeli town of Modi'in, the second such incident in three days.

The Palestinians have increased their attacks against Israeli military targets or settlers, while the Israeli army has intensified its incursions into the West Bank for six months, mainly in Nablus and Jenin, in response to a series of attacks by Palestinians or Arab-Israelis in those who have died at least 18 people.

Since then, these raids have caused the death of almost a hundred Palestinians, according to the count of the Palestinian Ministry of Health, in addition to registering more than 2,000 arrests.

Israel complains that the Palestinian National Authority (PNA) is losing control of the most troublesome hotspots in the West Bank, while the PNA assures that the lack of security in the region is also caused by the constant Israeli arrest operations.
