Indra's financial director leaves the company and signs for Celsa

The chief financial officer (CFO) of Indra has decided to leave the company to join Celsa in the same position. Borja García-Alarcón, a veteran executive with a career of more than two decades in multinationals, was part of the management committee of the listed company led by José Vicente de los Mozos since 2022.

García-Alarcón signs Celsa to strengthen the circular steel producing group. His appointment joins those of Rafael Villaseca as president and Jordi Cazorla as CEO. The objective of signing the new financial director is to take “one more step to consolidate its leadership in the sector,” explains the company.

At Indra, the departure of its financial director has been a complete surprise. This is recognized by company sources. According to what the company has communicated to the National Securities Market Commission, García-Alarcón will continue in his responsibilities until the presentation of the new strategic plan, within a month, in which he has been involved.

García-Alarcón arrived at Indra less than two years ago to join Marc Murtra's team, replacing Javier Lázaro, who had held the position of financial director since Fernando Abril Martorell. Now Indra will have to replace him with an internal movement or an external incorporation; management has not yet made a decision.

With a degree in Economics from the Complutense University of Madrid, Borja García-Alarcón began his professional career at Telefónica in 1999 as a financial analyst. Later he was named director of financial analysis and head of affiliates. In 2010 he joined Atento as financial director and three years later, in 2013, he signed for Grupo Enagás, where he performed the same functions until 2022.

“I am proud to join Celsa and contribute my experience in financial management to a historic company and a benchmark in its sector, alongside a top-level management team with the shared objective of laying the foundations for sustainable growth,” stated the García-Alarcón himself.

For Jordi Cazorla, CEO of Celsa, “the appointment of Borja García-Alarcón as financial director represents a key step in the company's commitment to talent and the highest standards in corporate governance.” García-Alarcón will also be part of Celsa's management committee.
