These apples from El Tarròs, in Urgell, the ones that have shade during the day, some have porous and brown skin, as we can see in detail in The Photos of La Vanguardia Readers.
The apple tree blooms in spring before the annual appearance of its leaves. The fruit, the apple, is a knob of 30-100 by 35-110 mm, globose, with remains of the calyx at the apex, green, yellow, reddish... with seeds of 7-8 by 4 mm.
The apple usually ripens towards the fall. That of the wild apple differs by a yellowish green color on its skin and a sour taste. Apple orchards are normally built by planting 2-3 year old trees.
We can also see in detail the leaves of the apple tree, stipulated and short petiolate. They are oval, with a wedge-shaped or rounded base, generally with serrated edges, of a strong green color. When squeezed, they give off a pleasant aroma.
Apples appear in many religious traditions, often as a mystical or forbidden fruit. Some place the origin of its cultivation in the Caucasus and Turkestan, due to the great variation in the shapes and flavors of the apples found there.
