Hugo Duro: "The referee said it was the last one, I don't understand why it took him so long to whistle"

Hugo Duro, Valencia forward who scored one of his team's goals in the draw against the leader in Mestalla (2-2), showed his surprise at the end of the match, with a Real Madrid goal that did not get on the scoreboard after that Gil Manzano had warned that the corner kick was the last play of the game.

"He said it was the last one and I don't understand why it took him so long to blow the whistle later. I understand Real Madrid but the referee said it was the last one," he said on Movistar. "He has been whistling everything the whole game," he criticized.

In his analysis of the match, Hugo Duro acknowledged that the first goal by Brazilian Vinícius, whom he recommended to focus on playing and avoid controversies, conditioned the match.

"The goal in the last minute of the first half hurt us a lot but the team's work is very good and we have to keep adding. Vinícius is a great footballer. I told him that if he dedicates himself to playing he doesn't have to go in in nothing because people look for him. He has to do like today, two goals, a great game and focused on football," he said.

Hugo Duro congratulated the Valencian fans who came to Mestalla for their behavior. "I am happy for all the people of Mestalla and I want to congratulate them because they have shown respect for racism. Last year they were few in number and today I am happy with their behavior."

For his part, Rubén Baraja, Valencia coach, explained that "the referee blew his whistle before Brahim's cross. Madrid also scored a goal in stoppage time in the first half and then the referee blew his whistle when we had a good option "I don't have to value much more."
