Hiperber from Elche will open 8 supermarkets in 2024, 5 of them in the province of Valencia

The Elche supermarket chain Hiperber plans to open eight new centers during the year 2024, as announced in a statement. Two of the establishments will be located in the province of Alicante (in Castalla and Banyeres de Mariola); another will be located in Albacete, in the town of Caudete; and the remaining five will be installed in the province of Valencia, in the municipalities of Buñol, Alginet, Paiporta, Cheste and València capital.

With these new openings, which will take place over the next year, Hiperber will reach the number of 87 supermarkets in operation by the end of 2024. The company highlights as its "main milestone" its "landing" in the province of Albacete, and the fact to strengthen its presence in Valencia, where it will have seven supermarkets after the openings in Ontinyent and Xàtiva in 2022 and 2023.

In total, Hiperber will make an investment in these new openings that will exceed 8 million euros. As the CEO of the chain, José Bernabeu, explains, “next year we are going to make a significant effort to continue our expansion process and continue growing with the same strategy as until now, based on growing like an oil spill, in towns close to those where we already have a presence.”

The centers that will open in 2024 will, for the most part, have an area of between 1,200 and 1,500 square meters, all of them will have parking and the usual sections that customers value most in the chain: butchery and delicatessen assisted by professionals, with great variety of products from nearby suppliers, as well as a free-service fruit shop and bakery.

In addition, each of these centers will offer an average of 7,000 references between leading brands and distribution brands (Alteza, Deleitum, Tandy, Selex and Crowe), and will be equipped with state-of-the-art refrigeration and lighting systems to be more sustainable.

All these openings will involve the incorporation of around 140 people who will provide service to the new centers. Therefore, the number of employees in the chain will be close to 1,300 employees at the end of the year.
