Google brings new features that probably not all Android users will like. As reported, the new Google Play update will affect the way you sync contacts: "Turn off Google contact sync will now remove previously synced contacts from your Android phone." the calendar and it will be necessary to activate it again to recover it.
This feature, which may create problems for those who are not aware of the change, is an enhancement to the Google Contacts features, because it adds some interesting features (for the user, but mainly for Google). For now, the additional information to the contacts was the physical address and birthdays, and this data could be linked with other Google applications, such as Maps and Calendar. Now it will be possible, for example, to know the location of the contacts in real time and see the weather forecast and more details of the weather of the place of their residence, their physical address. That is, even more control over our personal information for the internet giant.
Changing your sync settings will make it easier to keep two separate contact lists on two phones that share the same Google user account. Although it is true that in case of deactivating the synchronization it can make many contacts disappear, it is possible to recover it by following a simple process.
First of all, you will have to access the device settings and select the option 'passwords and accounts'. Once there, you have to select the option 'your Google account' and then 'account synchronization'. There you have to check if the 'contacts' option is active or not. If it is not activated, that would answer the reason for the disappearance of contacts that, by activating the option, would be recovered, since they are stored in the cloud. Of course, as the experts and the technological giant itself point out, it is important to make backup copies as a precaution.
In addition to the new functions that the contacts application will have, it will have a new interface. Although it is still in the testing phase, as pointed out by the editor of Google News for his Telegram channel, Nail Sadykov, the intention is that the update is ready to be implemented at the launch of Android 14.
The first images released by Sadykov show how the contact book will offer a larger window for each person, in which they will see, in addition to their photo, their birthday. In selecting the desired contact, there is a first range of functions to perform: phone call, sending messages, video call, sending email, or directions to your address using Maps.
Just below, the new options appear: the real-time weather forecast is offered in addition to your actual location.
