Google Cloud joins forces with Juan Roig in the new DataHub of Marina de Empresas in Valencia

Marina de Empresas, the entrepreneurship and innovation hub promoted by Juan Roig in the Marina de València, has partnered with Google Cloud to create a new space for innovation in the use of data, an initiative that aspires to turn the city of València into international reference.

The objective of this new hub, in which the three Marina de Empresas initiatives (EDEM, Lanzadera and Angels) participate, is to provide solutions to real technological challenges in the area of data presented by large companies, in addition to being able to generate and share knowledge by disseminating scientifically developed innovations.

All groups involved in Marina de Empresas can participate in the space (students, teachers, experts, researchers or professionals who have worked on a data project) and it is open, so it is accessible to anyone regardless of whether they belong to this entrepreneurial ecosystem.

The starting point of this initiative is the datathon that they have organized and in which the organizers will select the participants based on some basic technical requirements. After selecting the participants, multidisciplinary teams will be formed that over a weekend will work on a datathon to propose a solution, which will be presented to a jury made up of managers from Google, the challenger company and technological experts.

The winning teams will have the option to build their solution accompanied by expert professionals during the following months. After this period, the functional solution (MVP) will be presented to them and a winner will be decided, whose development can now be implemented in the challenging company. In addition, the results will be disseminated through scientific articles.

For its part, Google Cloud will provide support and guidance from professionals, access to its Cloud technology and training throughout this process. The first challenge will be launched by Mercadona. The deadline to register for the datathon, which will take place on January 26, 27 and 28, 2024 at Marina de Empresas, is now open.
