When we think about Christmas decoration, the tree is the element that first comes to mind. But the truth is that it is not the only corner of the house that we can dress in the festive spirit. For example, an important detail when it comes to being the perfect host on these dates is the decoration of the table where you celebrate special meals and dinners.
And, of course, the front door is another corner to pay attention to and decorate with care. Not in vain, we will enter through it every day and receive our guests, so that it becomes the first contact with the Christmas atmosphere that the home emanates. Although wreaths are the most typical decoration for doors, here you will find some very original ideas for a different decoration.
You can decorate your door with a huge reindeer, very easy to do and it will look great. You will need cardboard or EVA foam in black, brown, red and white. You can choose them with a glossy or matte finish. It's as easy as drawing and cutting out the horns, making a nose and eyes – you can use a plate to make the shape – and then sticking it all on your door.
Turn your front door into a huge Christmas gift. It is an ideal and very striking decoration, as well as easy and cheap to recreate. Choose a fabric that you like, it can be tulle, satin, silk, velvet, raffia... You can even choose something printed or make the bow with paper. Wrap the fabric around your door horizontally and vertically and then make a large bow to place at the point where both strips meet. If you want, you can add some ornaments to the bow, such as mistletoe, holly, or any other special decorations.
With this decoration you will attract the attention of the entire neighborhood: a wide fir arch above your door frame. You can recreate it with natural or artificial fir branches. Depending on the one you choose, you will have to stick it on your door in one way or another, according to the material and weight of the weed, whether with nails, glued with adhesives or with the help of a mesh. Decorate the garland with vegetation such as eucalyptus or poinsettias, or with lights, balls and other typically Christmas decorations. Likewise, it will look great if you spray artificial snow on it.
For this decoration you will have to get to work with the crafts. You will need large paper or cardboard in different shades of green, which you will need to cut into strips and stick on your door imitating the shape of a Christmas tree. Then, cut out the gap in the door to be able to pass through. If you want to elevate the decoration even more, cover your door or place overlapping decorations on the paper that acts as a tree.
