Four arrested in Barcelona and Vic for stealing motorcycles and reselling them

The Mossos have arrested two men in the Sant Martí district for the theft of 25 enduro-type motorcycles. Two other people have also been arrested in Vic for the crime of receiving these stolen vehicles.

According to the police, the two detainees who were in charge of committing the robberies always followed the same procedure. When they located a motorcycle that interested them, they followed it up to steal it from its owner. In fact, sometimes they placed a GPS device on it to better locate it. Once found, the alleged thieves moved the motorcycle that was on public roads to a nearby parking lot before handling it to avoid raising suspicions.

In addition, before transferring the stolen vehicles to the mechanical workshop where they were sold, they parked them in places with few crowds or in motorcycle parking spaces for public use to ensure that the vehicles did not have a GPS tracking device.

Finally, they took them to Vic where they sold them to the other two arrested, who bought them for 500 euros. These people dismantled them to sell them for parts or, in some cases, they sent the whole motorcycles to a country where they sold them.

As a result of the investigation, the agents of the Sant Martí Investigation unit arrested two people in Barcelona for the theft of 25 motorcycles and another two in Vic for receiving the stolen vehicles. In addition, two judicial entries were made at homes and one at a warehouse, all in Vic, where nine of the stolen motorcycles were recovered.

After going to court on Saturday June 10, the detainees were released with charges.
