Escrivá proposes placing the quotas for the self-employed between 250 and 550 euros

Yesterday, the Ministry of Inclusion raised a new proposal for the self-employed contribution system that organizations close to the unions, such as UPTA and Uatae, quite liked, but which found the direct rejection of the ATA employers. Escrivá's team did not put any paper on the table, but instead made a verbal proposal in which the fee for self-employed workers who earn the most was raised to 550 euros and the minimum was lowered to 250 euros.

The changes mean a drop in contributions for the self-employed who earn less than 1,125 euros, who would pay fees ranging from 250 to 270 euros. Instead, they would increase the contributions of those who receive incomes above 1,700 euros, who would contribute between 400 and 550 euros.

"We ask the government to be brave, to take the reins and definitely push forward," said Eduardo Abad, president of UPTA, adding that the spirit of the new system cannot be broken, which is "that 2.4 million self-employed workers go down their tax effort. At the other extreme is Lorenzo Amor, from ATA, who wrote on Twitter that there had been no progress and that great differences had been noted. For its part, the ministry considered that in yesterday's meeting there were advances and meeting points and announced that in the coming days it will propose a new proposal to try to unblock the situation and achieve consensus.
