Duro Felguera triggered its negative results and closed 2023 with attributed losses of 21.9 million euros, compared to the net profit of 5 million achieved during the previous year, as reported this Saturday by the Asturian firm to the National Securities Market Commission. (CNMV).

The engineering and capital goods company detailed to the regulator a 140% increase in billing last year, up to 281.2 million, with Specialized Services being the item that generated the most income, with half of it (140 .4 million), followed by Industrial Plants (73.7 million) and Energy (53.8 million). The company has the objective of reaching a turnover of 500 million to leave behind the problems that caused the rescue of SEPI.

The company's gross operating profit (Ebitda) fell to negative 13.6 million, in contrast to the positive 4.2 million of the previous year. In addition, the industrial group's net debt increased to 144.4 million euros.

The group's results are still far from the almost 1,000 million it billed more than a decade ago, when it accumulated an order portfolio close to 2,000 million.

An important development that could cause changes in the company's management is the change of majority shareholder. Last February, the Mexican companies Prodi and Mota-Engil México formally notified the CNMV of the takeover of the company by acquiring a 54.66% stake after executing the two capital increases that both companies agreed to with the Asturian group. of engineering.

Both operations increased the share capital of Duro Felguera by 91.3 million euros, reaching 10.75 million euros, divided into just over 215 million shares with a nominal value of 0.05 euros each.

According to the data reported by Duro Felguera to the supervisor, after carrying out the respective capital increases, José Miguel Bejos, controlling partner of the Prodi group, was awarded a 54.66% stake in Duro Felguera's share capital under the agreement. syndication agreement signed with Mota-Engil México. "Consequently, José Miguel Bejos has control of Duro Felguera," indicated the industrial group.
