The Mossos d'Esquadra and the Local Police of El Prat de Llobregat have dismantled 12 marijuana plantations in a building, with three stairs, which had been converted into a factory and managed by two family clans specialized in drug trafficking.
The police action has seized close to another 3,500 marijuana plants abandoned in different containers in the neighborhood, owned by other growers, who would have left them in anticipation of new police entries. The total number of seized substances has a value of more than two million euros in the illegal market.
The police operation, which had more than 200 police officers, was carried out last Wednesday, April 26, starting early in the morning and ended with a balance of five men and one woman arrested and another woman investigated, aged between 20 and 79 years old, as alleged perpetrators of a crime against public health for drug trafficking and a crime of electricity fraud.
The investigation began in November of last year when the agents learned that two criminal groups had once again installed marijuana plantations on four floors where the police had previously acted, located on Riu Anoia street in Prat de Llobregat.
As a result of the first investigations, the investigators determined that the leaders of the family clans had turned the space into a huge marijuana plantation factory and continued the investigative work until they located a total of 12 plantations.
