The association Foment de la Informació Crítica-L'Hospitalet (FIC) organizes this Friday the second La Nit dels Insurrectes gala, in which tribute is paid to three personalities from the city at a gala dinner held at the Porta Fira hotel in the Europe Square. During the celebration, three personalities will be named favorite insurgent sons of l'Hospitalet de Llobregat, the organization explained in a statement.
This time the honorees are Clara-Carme Parramon, Mateo Revilla and the platform No more Blocs. Parramon was director of the Aula de Cultura de La Florida, director of the historical archive of the city, head of the heritage section, author of an investigation on immigration in the 60s in Hospitalet, leader of the PSUC during the end of the Franco regime and the transition, feminist activist and board member of the Hospitalet Study Center.
Revilla, who died at the end of 2022, was one of the promoters of the protest against water receipts at the end of the last century. For its part, the No més Blocs-Salvem l'Hospitalet platform has been and continues to lead the neighborhood opposition against the PDU Gran Via.
According to the FIC, "more than a hundred people" have confirmed their attendance at the dinner. This entity was born six years ago as a result of the celebration of the 40th anniversary of the weekly l'Estaca and, since then, it has organized events and published five books.
