Cepsa announced this Monday an agreement with the owners of the low-cost gas station chain Ballenoil to acquire the 235 service stations it owns. The amount of the operation has not been disclosed.

The operation, which is still pending approval by the Competition authorities, fully immerses Cepsa in a market that it had not touched until now, the low-cost segment of self-consumption gas stations, that is, without personnel. The company states, in a statement issued today to the press, that its objective is to “turn Ballenoil into the reference in terms of sustainability in that market.”

Ballenoil will continue with its brand and its expansion plan, which aims to exceed 500 points of sale in 2027. The entry of Cepsa will mean a progressive reinforcement of the offer of electric charging points and will incorporate the sale of biofuels at its stations. .

Pierre-Yves Sachet, director of mobility and new business at Cepsa, stated that “our objective is to consolidate Ballenoil as a leading brand in the low-cost model and position it as a benchmark in terms of sustainability in this segment.” In this way, Cepsa will reach 2,000 service stations in the Iberian market.

Ballenoil is the pioneer network in the agile and simple supply of fuels, with 24-hour service, presence of station personnel during business hours and car wash service. To facilitate customer refueling, Ballenoil has an app.

In parallel, Cepsa will maintain its premium model of Cepsa service stations, where customers can enjoy a multi-energy and ultra-convenience offer, including additional restaurant, supermarket, package collection or parapharmacy services, and will continue to develop its loyalty program to provide of greater discounts and advantages to its customers.
