Casa Seat celebrated its third anniversary last night with an event that was attended by some 200 guests, including renowned personalities from the institutional, business and social spheres of Barcelona who have collaborated on the project since its inauguration in June 2020.

Casa Seat, three years as a social and cultural reference in Barcelona

Casa Seat celebrated its third anniversary last night with an event that was attended by some 200 guests, including renowned personalities from the institutional, business and social spheres of Barcelona who have collaborated on the project since its inauguration in June 2020.

The space, which opened its doors with the aim of being a tribute to the city of Barcelona, ​​has offered over this time around 700 events, with a wide variety of proposals for citizens, from exhibitions, concerts, literary talks and children's workshops, to conferences and symposia on mobility, technology or innovation. During this intense period -key to the reactivation of Barcelona's social and cultural pulse after the pandemic- more than 450,000 people have visited the space. In the last twelve months of activity, the Merry Days Christmas exhibition has been one of the most successful, attracting more than 80,000 visitors.

The star moment of the night was starred by the Estopa duo, who performed in the Casa Seat auditorium. The brothers David and José Muñoz lifted the guests from their seats with the interpretations of some of their most emblematic songs. During the celebration, the pianist Marco Mezquida also presented two of the songs from Charming Carmen, an album recorded entirely at Casa Seat. After the cocktail, energized by DJ Andreu Presas, the guests were able to taste the anniversary cake created by Christian Escribà and Patricia Schmidt, as well as toast with a cocktail by Javier de las Muelas designed for the occasion.

Since its inauguration in June 2020, artists such as Bad Gyal, Sara Baras, Antonio Orozco, Ismael Serrano, Lola Índigo, Álvaro Soler or Stay Homas have offered intimate and local performances at Casa Seat. The calendar has also included prominent names such as Marco Mezquida, Chicuelo or Santi Balmes, among others.

Among the conferences and debates that Casa Seat has hosted in these three years, it is worth noting the presence of national and international experts such as John Moavenzadeh, director of Urban Mobility at MIT; Mohamed Mezghani, UITP Secretary General; the art theorist Mark Amerika, the writer Megan Maxwell or Alice Charles, from the World Economic Forum. Continuing in the field of sport, figures such as Alexia Putellas and Ronaldinho have visited the space.

The exhibition spaces throughout the building have hosted the photographs of Antoni Campañá and Home Street home, the first official exhibition of TvBoy with more than 50 original works, and proposals such as the Fusta i Rodes exhibition on skateboarding as a form of urban culture, or the exhibition Football. Art. Icons, which linked graphic art to soccer.

Casa Seat has also participated in major events such as the 48h Open House BCN, Manga Barcelona and Serializados Fest and in shared cycles with the Jardins de Pedralbes Festival Village, the Gran Teatre del Liceu or the BCN Z Fest, among others, without forgetting its " contribution" as a vaccination center against Covid during the immunization campaign carried out due to the pandemic.

In his speech, Gabriele Palma, director of Casa Seat, thanked "all the people who have visited us in these three years, who are the true architects of Casa Seat being a benchmark in the city today, for their participation and involvement with the projects, events and exhibitions at the center, from families, young entrepreneurs, business managers, lovers of culture and gastronomy, and those who have wanted to learn about our electric and urban mobility proposals”.

For his part, Wayne Griffiths, CEO of Seat and Cupra, highlighted that "Casa Seat has managed to integrate into the social, economic and cultural life of Barcelona, ​​and has become a key player in its reactivation after the pandemic" In addition, the The head of the Catalan brands of the VW Group announced that Casa Seat is beginning a new era under the leadership of Cristina Vall-Llosada, replacing Gabriele Palma, who has been promoted and will occupy new responsibilities in the company's Corporate Operations team.

In her new role, effective immediately, Vall-Llosada will be in charge of applying her experience and leadership to continue promoting the company's values ​​and strengthening the relationship with the different audiences in the space. Graduated in Communication and Public Relations, Vall-Llosada, has developed her professional career in different communication consultancies. In December 2010 she joined Seat. as head of corporate strategic communication, leading projects related to electromobility, connectivity and digitization. In 2016, she was appointed Head of Corporate Communication for the company, a position from which she has developed and executed various communication strategies, contributing to the positioning and reputation of the company and its Seat and Cupra brands.
