Batch Cooking weekly menu for the week of November 13 to 17

Saturday mornings are the time of greatest family tension in our house. There are nerves and expectation in the atmosphere. It is a circumstance that requires concentration, a lot of patience, and not losing sight of the fundamental objective: making the purchase of the week.

Between finishing checking if everything is on the shopping list, deciding which of the teenagers will come to the supermarket with mom and dad, which one will have to put everything away when they return, and the worry of how much it's going to cost us this time, on Saturday night, Tomorrow is the moment that no one wants to live.

But I think over the years, we've managed to hone in on some successful strategies. The first is a “motivating” breakfast, which inspires the whole family to get up at a decent hour to make a reasonable use of the rest of the weekend.

The second is to let the teenager(s) accompanying us choose at least one product they like in the supermarket (except chocolate or soft drinks), with the condition of sharing it with those who have been left guarding the fort.

And finally, we try to make the return coincide with lunch time, so we stop on the way back to buy something prepared (Chinese, Lebanese food, some roast chicken or something similar). This way all the morning stress is completely dissipated by nap time.
