Do the offers make sense? For different reasons, supermarkets and large stores usually have bargains, which can be divided into two categories: lower price, or more units. That is, “30% off,” or “buy two, get three,” for example.
The reasons can be multiple, but there are mainly two: they want to get out of an inventory that takes up too much space or is about to pass its ideal sale date, or they use them as a “hook” to get you in and spend money on other things.
Since they want to manipulate you, the offers make me distrustful. Also, I always wonder if it's really a saving, I don't know, to buy two boxes of strawberries for the price of one and end up with a kilo of rotten strawberries in the fridge a week later.
I'm not saying it's bad to take advantage of deals, but it has to make sense. That is, look beyond the seductive proposal and think if you really need it, or if letting yourself be carried away by the “pay two and get three” is going to take away money that you need for other things.
