Barça sees its salary limit reduced by 65 million

LaLiga made public this Tuesday the Sports Squad Cost Limits (LCPD) after the winter market. The most notable change is that of Barça, which has seen its figure reduced to 204.161 million euros. In September, the Catalan club had a limit of 270,026, meaning the reduction is 65,865 million.

The Blaugrana team is the third team with the highest limit after Real Madrid, which maintains 727,451, and Atlético de Madrid, which goes from having 296,357 to having 303,408. In the accumulated total of all clubs the figure has decreased from 2,563,881 to 2,539,492, largely due to this difference in the Catalan club.

It should be remembered that the entity chaired by Joan Laporta had budgeted to earn 40 million before the end of 2023, from the sale of 10% of Barça Vision, but the operation with the German fund Libero ultimately did not materialize. The club is still looking for a buyer for this asset.

The Sports Squad Cost Limit is the maximum amount that each club can spend on the salaries of players, coach, assistant coach and physical trainer, as well as the reserve team, the quarry and other sections. It is calculated according to the difference between income and structural expenses and the debt repayment expected throughout the season.

For its part, in the Second Hypermotion League, Elche is the one with the highest salary limit with a total of 23.8 million, followed by Valladolid, with 13 million, and Eibar, with 11. Espanyol is eighth in the category with the highest salary limit, a total of 9.4 million, which represents a reduction of about 600,000 euros compared to the September figure.
