Ayuso arrives ready to

The "congress of yore", as Isabel Díaz Ayuso came to describe it after the internal crisis of the PP broke out, is already here. The president of the Community of Madrid will act today and tomorrow as hostess, mistress of ceremonies and conductor of a conclave that, in addition to serving to recover the unity lost after two long years of internal struggle for organic control of the party in the region , will serve to "turn the game around" by making official the cycle change that the polls already anticipated last 4-M and that the former leader, Pablo Casado, tried to avoid.

So many things have happened since then that there are hardly any unknowns left to resolve in a match conjured up to leave behind the turbulence with which he has become accustomed to dealing. The aforementioned Casado -with whom Ayuso has not spoken since the events of March-, and his general secretary, Teodoro García Egea, have disappeared, the option that the mayor of the capital, José Luis Martínez-Almeida, dispute the address with Ayuso regional party faded away.

The same as the internal fights between families that Ayuso herself has been in charge of amnestiing, ensuring that "who in the PP was not a casadist" in 2021 and 2020. "We have all been casadists, it is his thing, all that was missing," he pointed out the week pass.

So clear is the path of the Madrilenian that in the program of the Madrid PP for its XVII regional congress they refer to her as "president of the Madrid PP" before the vote is held. The only question is to know with what percentage of votes he will rise to the command pole held by Senator Pío García Escudero since Genoa imposed a manager after the abrupt departure of former president Cristina Cifuentes.

The "unity" that is brandished so much these days in the popular ranks is a fact. Ayuso has confirmed that he will include "Almeida's proposals" in the new Madrid PP. And, even, the incorporation of some member of the mayor's team such as Inmaculada Sanz is not ruled out. The municipal government spokeswoman and Security delegate aims to be one of the municipal incorporations within a "small structure" and that will be totally unprecedented given Ayuso's need to reform completely to eliminate any type of previous inheritance.

At the head will be the current parliamentary spokesman for the PP in the Madrid Assembly, Alfonso Serrano. Ayuso's most trusted person, the president is even considering removing him from the spokesperson so that he can dedicate himself exclusively to the general secretary of the party in the region.

A detail nothing less than that shows the scope of the renewal that Ayuso wants to materialize in the PP of Madrid before, in a year, municipal and regional elections are held again.

The Madrid leader has kept the names of those who will accompany Serrano until today, but all her advisers have been ruled out: "She wants to completely separate the work of the party and those of the government: so that everyone is focused on their responsibility," says her environment as a reproach to previous organization charts.

With the election of Serrano, Ayuso wants to replicate in the party the cohesion that the popular parliamentary group has shown in Congress, where there have hardly been any fissures. Not even in the fateful days of March when, after the earthquake due to the espionage attempt against Ayuso, lists of casadistas and ayusistas began to be drawn up as a recount of the strength of each other in the face of a battle that ultimately did not need to be waged.

Once the inauguration of the PP in Madrid is completed, the next internal process in sight will be that of the New Generations (NNGG). A preserve that still bears the stamp of Ángel Carromero, until a few weeks ago general coordinator of the Mayor's Office and the only head to roll for the espionage attempt on Ayuso orchestrated from Genoa through municipal offices.

Carromero, according to party sources, "controlled the Madrid PP quarry with complete freedom, doing and undoing as he pleased. Based on his likes and dislikes and without any other criteria." To the point that in the direction of the Madrid NNGG there have been no relevant changes in the last nine years despite the fact that the statutes mark the holding of elections every three.

Many of the messages of support for Casado, and attacks on Ayuso, during the internal crisis in March originated, or were viralized, from the New Generations. What pushes the next leadership of the party to renew this structure to align the speeches and messages before the decisive electoral year that will be 2023.
