The Municipal Police of Madrid have arrested the film producer and former member of the terrorist group ETA José María "Txepe" Lara, 75, for snatching the defense of a local agent during an intervention caused by a fight between two young people, who also They have been arrested, police sources have confirmed.

The events occurred late on Saturday afternoon, when a fight began at the doors of a game room located next to the Lavapiés square.

Two municipal patrols went to the place, which proceeded to identify the two young men involved in the fight, about 20 years old and of North African origin, who refused and began to rebuke the agents.

In addition, one of them came to attack a policeman, for which he had to be reduced. The other young man also resisted his arrest by hitting various parts of one of the police vehicles.

In the middle of the actions of the agents, a 75-year-old man who was witnessing the events along with other passers-by stood between the officials and took one of them away from his defense.

After uttering insults against the agents, he was subdued and arrested on charges of attacking an agent of authority. This is the film producer José María "Txepe" Lara, who served a sentence for belonging to the terrorist group ETA in the 1970s.
