The National Police have arrested in Benahavís (Málaga) a dangerous fugitive claimed by the United Kingdom authorities by virtue of an arrest warrant for extradition, which is related to a crime of murder that occurred last year in Liverpool, during a confrontation between two rival organized crime groups.
According to the National Police in a statement, the fugitive, who had established his residence on the Costa del Sol from Dubai, was arrested after a police pursuit began in the Malaga town of Marbella, after the suspect went to the leak in a control.
The agents realized that the suspect made a sudden maneuver at the wheel to avoid a police device for the control of people and vehicles. At that moment, a persecution began that ended in the neighboring town of Benahavís.
During the reckless escape carried out by the fugitive, he put other road users at serious risk, improperly overtaking other vehicles, and invaded the opposite direction.
Finally, agents attached to the Prevention and Reaction Unit -UPR- of the Marbella Police Station managed to arrest the suspect, in relation to an arrest warrant for extradition issued by the United Kingdom that he had in force, as well as for his alleged responsibility in a crime against road safety.
According to the search warrant, the fugitive I.F., would belong to a criminal group based in Liverpool that, after an escalation of tensions with another opposing side, planned the murder of a rival, in August 2022. During the incident, one of the shots fired hit a person who was not the marked target.
At least five people participated in the murder, including the fugitive, who would have planned and directed the performance. After the crime, the fugitive fled to Dubai and, later, ended up in the province of Malaga. The now detainee has been placed at the disposal of the Central Court of Instruction of the National Court.
