National Police agents in Palma have arrested a man who sexually assaulted his landlady after she demanded payment of several monthly payments that she owed him since April. The man attacked the woman in the home he had rented, tried to steal the money that he had on her, also tried to abuse her and finally harassed her for days until the woman ended up filing a complaint with the Police.
The events occurred when the woman met with the attacker at the door of the apartment she had rented to try to negotiate the non-payment of the rent since the tenant had not paid the monthly payments since April. At that meeting, the woman intended to agree on a payment plan but, when she was at the door of the home, a strong argument began due to the debt.
Without saying a word, the man grabbed the victim by the waist and began searching for money in his pants pockets. At that point he began kissing her and running his tongue along her neck, police said in a statement. The aggressor touched her genitals and chest and tried to drag the woman inside the home, but the victim managed to get away from the man and fled in the direction of where a group of people were to ask for help.
The aggressor gave up his intentions, but the woman verified that the man began to follow her days later, until the victim decided to lock herself in her home without going outside for fear of a new attack. The harassment continued with phone calls from a hidden number, in which the victim was ordered to go to the home where she was renting, posing as a police officer.
The woman confesses that she feared for her physical integrity and, at that moment, decided to file a complaint with the National Police. The complainant reported an attempted robbery with violence, sexual assault and harassment. As a result of the complaint, agents of the National Police from the Oeste police station began a series of investigations in order to clarify the facts, until the man was detained this Tuesday.
