An 83-year-old man died this Friday by drowning on Riells beach in L'Escala (Girona), as reported by Protecció Civil in a statement.
The rescue service tried to revive him after receiving the warning from a witness, and two units of the Medical Emergency Service (SEM) continued the maneuvers without success.
The Civil Guard will take charge of the proceedings after the death, the second on the Catalan beaches since the summer campaign began.
