A total of 224,000 euros is the saving that supposes the reduction of the "political" positions of the Government of José Luis Martínez-Almeida, in which new general directorates have been created for Samur-Civil Protection and Firefighters to provide "greater entity" to these municipal services, and there are also other novelties such as the creation of a "specific" general directorate for Family and Childhood, or adding the "tag" of "unwanted loneliness" to the general directorate for the Elderly, reports Efe.
The deputy mayor and delegate for Spokesperson, Security and Emergencies, Inmaculada Sanz, explained at the press conference after the Governing Board this Thursday that in this meeting of the monocolor team of the mayor of Madrid it has been approved, and in "record" time ", the structure of the Executive, in which "political positions" are reduced, going from the previous nine areas of Government to the current seven, and from six delegated areas to four, which represents a saving of 224,000 euros, has stressed .
Sanz, who has realized that there have already been various dismissals and appointments, has indicated that it has not yet been decided what position Pepe Aniorte will occupy in the Government, former mayor of Ciudadanos (he was a delegate for Families, Equality and Social Welfare) who he went to the electoral list of the PP although he was not elected at the polls, as long as he was in position 32 and the popular ones achieved 29 councilors.
“About Mr. Aniorte, no decision has been made in today's Governing Board. It is true that it will be a matter of a few days”, pointed out the deputy mayor of the PP.
As novelties, in the Security and Emergencies area directed by Sanz, the general directorates of Samur-Civil Protection and Firefighters have been created; and in the area of Social Policies, Family and Equality (formerly Families, Equality and Social Welfare) the powers of a former general directorate have been split to create two different ones, one specifically for Family and Childhood, and another on Education, Youth and Volunteering .
In addition, in the nomenclature of the General Directorate of Social Services "the mention of disability is included" and in the General Directorate of the Elderly "the tag of unwanted loneliness is added".
On the other hand, the General Directorate of Equality and Against Gender Violence remains in Social Policies, Family and Equality (now directed by José Fernández and occupied by José Aniorte): "There is no change in this regard," said Sanz .
Other novelties are that the powers related to the European Funds, which during the mandate of PP and Ciudadanos were in the hands of the Vice Mayor's Office, will now be held by the Economy, Innovation and Finance area; Cooperation and Internationalization, as well as Partnership, become the responsibility of the General Coordination of the Mayor's Office, and the management of Calle 30 will fall to the Works and Equipment area (previously it was in Environment and Mobility).
Urban Planning is now added to this area, where a new general direction has been created in charge of "developing the general plan for urban planning", one of the Government's priorities, added Sanz.
