All the news that will soon arrive on WhatsApp from the hand of AI

The popular Meta-owned instant messaging app, WhatsApp, continues to evolve. According to reports from WABetaInfo, new functions will soon arrive from artificial intelligence that promise to improve both privacy and the user experience on the platform.

In the beta version of iOS 23.20.1.71, the application already introduced a feature that offered users the option to hide their phone number from new contacts. Another function that the platform presented a few months ago was to protect WhatsApp chats with a password. Along these lines, it is expected that the next update will take another step in improving user privacy. An aspect that, as Meta never tires of reminding, is a priority for the company.

One of the most intriguing features is the introduction of artificial intelligence in the app. This feature will allow users to generate their own custom stickers to share with friends. Although this feature has already been tested on Facebook Messenger with surprising results, its arrival on WhatsApp could add a creative touch to conversations.

As WhatsApp details in its blog, the incorporation of artificial intelligence will not only allow the creation of these stickers but also perform two more functions:

WhatsApp has also improved its ability to highlight important messages in group conversations. The latest beta version for Android (2.23.21.4) introduces the "highlights with expiration date" feature, allowing users to set a message at the top of the conversation for a day, a week or a month, making it easier organizing important information.

Regarding search, WhatsApp is working on improving its search bar in Android version 2.23.20.16. Users will be able to search for specific contact statuses and verified or unverified channels, making it easier to find relevant content.

On the security front, WhatsApp has introduced a new “private relay” feature in its beta version for iOS. This Apple-inspired feature protects users' IP addresses during calls, adding an extra layer of security to encrypted conversations.

Additionally, WhatsApp is working on a “secret code” feature for locked chats in Android version 2.23.21.8. This feature will allow users to set a custom passcode for their locked chats, providing an additional level of security and privacy.
