Apple's WWDC may be loaded with hardware news, such as the Vision Pro viewer, but this is an appointment eminently for programmers, so what is presented are the changes that will affect the new operating systems that will be made available to the public starting next fall. Personalization, a greater degree of communication with contacts and better management of widgets are the focus of most of the ads.

In iOS 17, incoming calls on the phone will be able to appear with custom posters of the contacts that can be highly personalized. Now FaceTime will allow you to record audio and video messages when the receiver is not available and also, while it is being recorded, the message transcribed into text will appear on the screen of the destination phone, in case the recipient considers that they should pick up the call.

In FaceTime calls, iOS 17 incorporates aesthetic innovations. When the person makes certain gestures, such as forming a heart with their fingers, or raising their thumbs, enlarged and animated images will appear, such as hearts or fireworks. Apple's video calling system is also coming to Apple TV. Communication starts on the iPhone and can be moved to the big screen. The camera will continue to be that of the phone, which will automatically focus the protagonists.

In iOS 17, Apple brings a touch of simplicity to its AirDrop file sharing system, which now has the NameDrop option. It is enough to bring one iPhone closer to another, or to an Apple Watch, to share a contact, or a file. Another novelty is At Rest, which transforms the iPhone into a customizable bedside clock, even with widgets, by placing it horizontally while charging and, at night, transforms its screen to allow vision without glare.

One of the new apps in iOS 17 is Diary. It encourages reflection and invites you to create a personal diary based on your daily activities. Apple's AI makes suggestions to the user about content that might interest them, including things like photos, places, and workouts. For its part, iPad 17 offers innovations more aimed at productivity, especially with several functions designed to work with PDF files, such as auto-filling of fields in forms. The Health app finally comes to the Apple tablet.

Apple's operating system for computers, macOS, debuts, like every year, a name from a place in California. The new one is from the Sonoma wine country. The novelties focus on the fact that widgets can be placed on the desktop by simply dragging them, in a spectacular way of making video calls with a function of overlaying the person presenting a theme on a background, with very successful video effects, and integration, in addition to FaceTime, in Zoom and Webex.

In the Safari web browser, Apple has strengthened privacy protection through an advanced anti-tracking system and fingerprint protection in private browsing Windows in this mode are locked when not in use, so they can be left open without fear of being seen by someone when the user walks away from their computer.

As regards watchOS 10, the Apple Watch operating system, a function has been added to reach the most important widgets for the user through a simple movement of the watch crown. The smartwatch has also added features for various sports, such as cycling, which now has new metrics and a bluetooth connection for potentiometers, speed and cadence sensors. The Compass and Maps app offers more clarity to hikers and topographic maps.
